where is god?

Diogenes Teufelsdröckh, the protagonist of Carlyle's fictional autobiography <i>Sartor Resartus,</i> is a young man trying to figure out how to live in the modern world. This effort forces him to confront some basic philosophical questions. Try to identify one of these questions in your own words. How do you think Teufelsdröckh answers it?

where is god?

I believe that Teufelsdrockh is trying to figure out where God is in the modern world and what is he doing. He is very pessimistic about the whole idea of God and has lost his religious belief in such a thing. He thinks that since the creation of the world, God has been sitting "idle" and has done nothing else for mankind.
